Sussex County - The Perfect New Jersey Getaway
Oct 29, 2013 -We can’t say we blame anyone for not knowing where Sussex County is, especially if they have never been to New Jersey. Well, Sussex County is tucked away in a small corner of New Jersey, in the quiet countryside. Despite being merely a ninety minute drive away from downtown New York City, it maintains its quiet, tranquil charm in every way possible. As soon as the Manhattan skyline disappears from your view, it is as if a whole new backdrop appears, even more so as you start approaching Sussex County. Because of its picturesque landscape, it makes for the perfect New Jersey charter bus getaway from the busy-ness of city life.
Will it be boring and too quiet for people who are used to the noise and buzz of city life? Not at all if you are an adventure seeker or love the outdoors. There are plenty of activities to keep grownups and kids alike occupied and having plenty of fun. For instance, you will never tire of the delightful active adventures during winter because there is always plenty of snow for outdoor lovers in your New Jersey charter bus group. Even for those who prefer a tranquil weekend getaway, spend some time being inspired by the snow-powdered slopes and gorgeous winter flora and fauna. Other activities include fishing in the neighboring lakes and perhaps, for those who prefer to hike, hit one of the mountainous trails would seem like a lot of fun.
Of course, you are not going to get the branded outfits and elaborate malls like the ones you are accustomed to in the downtown metropolis. Devoid of the upscale boutiques and fancy restaurants, the locals will entice you with rural quaint shops (which is a neat change) and as far as food and produce is concerned, this is where you go local and deal with everyday fresh organic products! Very down-to-earth and we would say that it is a very humbling experience and definitely something you will remember after the New Jersey charter bus vacation is over.
You know what we often find all those sterling jewelry and precious gems peeking through the shop windows, begging to be bought and adorned on your wrist or around your neck? Yes, head up to Sterling Hill Mining Museum and Tour to find out how these gemstones made their way to your favorite stores. Dig deep into the history of gemstone recovery and polishing process through exhausting mining methods. Within the NJ bus rental tourist attraction location itself, it has been said to be home to more than three hundred different types of minerals and fluorescent gems. The site has been included in the National Historic Registry for a very good reason and as a charter bus New Jersey visitor who is here for the first time, we think you are going to be thrilled to find the insider secrets to this amazing industry.
Stone Harbor’s Pristine Seven Mile Beach
Oct 4, 2013 - Stone Harbor, just like many other New Jersey Shore precious gem towns, didn’t have its beginnings as a tourism hub...in fact, the town has its beginnings as a fishing and hunting town where the locals thrive on such trades. But it is because of their endless miles of pristine beaches that drew people from all walks of life from other surrounding areas and communities like bees to flowers. The township grew exponentially over the years after the beachfront properties were bought up by a wealthy Philadelphia investor and developed as an upscale getaway.
Seven Mile Beach
Seven Mile Beach is actually a small isolated getaway that is shared between Avalon and Stone Harbor because it is located right smack in the middle of The Wildwoods and Atlantic City. To get away from the everyday humdrum of life, vacations love to book a short weekend getaway for awesome wild surfing and boogie boarding. The island enjoys steady breeze and great waves for surfing and that is what they are popularly known for. Mother nature seems to love this part of New Jersey because the island boasts of the highest sand dunes on this side of the country. Getting on the sand dunes are illegal as it is home to many environmentally-protected plants and animals.
A very upscale atmosphere
The fantastic thing about Seven Mile is that you get to experience being one with Mother Nature and having fun....without the crowd. The contributing factor could be the fact that it has a very quiet, quaint, private and upscale atmosphere. That is what makes your visit here very serene and calming. Finding a commercialized businesses and fast food joints can be daunting task at Stone Harbor as the township is full of classy, upscale, elegant fine dining options. To escape the quiet atmosphere, most of our New Jersey charter bus rental customers bring the rented charter bus to Wildwood or....yes, Atlantic City. Both are short bus rides away.
Summer ends, activities abound
The closing of summer could mean many things for different people but for us, it simply means colorful parks, perfect weather and orange evenings skies when the sun sets...which sets a perfect backdrop for endless numbers of gatherings, events and activities. And we will start it off with The Avalon Chamber of Commerce’s event every first Saturday throughout September and October - End of Summer Shop Hop in the shopping district. From 5pm onwards, stores will be giving out promotions to the tune of 75% off of services and products.
So, if you are still looking for a cooling, relaxing weekend getaway, give Seven Mile a shot!
