Top of the Rock (Manhattan NY)

We’ve been to Manhattan NY a thousand times before this, staring right up at those amazing skyscrapers and sometimes merely walking past without really seeing them. Having gotten used to the pace of downtown Manhattan city life, it’s very normal to have developed a sense of one-ness with the city. However, it’s a completely different story if you’ve just called a Manhattan NY charter bus rental vehicle to book a bus because you’re heading here with your friends for the first time.

Looking up at the buildings is one thing….looking down on them is quite another. I’m not talking about a helicopter ride although it’s a fantastic thing to do – it’s Top of the Rock that we’re talking about! John D. Rockefeller, Jr. opened the Observation Deck on the building’s 70th floor way as a way of giving back to the society…the amazing, vibrant, pulsating community that makes Manhattan one of the most amazing cities in the world today.

When you get up there, you’ll get to see Manhattan for what it truly is and it makes you think…..a lot.

When I read about it in a guidebook, I couldn’t wait to look out from the Titanic-styled decks which were originally made to look and feel like the decks they have on ocean liners. Pictures showed that there was more than just. I thought it was never going to be opened again because it was closed for twenty years so, in 2006, when the Top of the Rock opened again, I decided that I had to get there. And boy, did I have fun!

OK, so it was a little disappointing that the ship-deck design is no longer there…in its place, it’s been redesigned with fully transparent glass. It’s a little too common for me but hey, it’s safe and it works. What you see down there on the streets becomes so significantly smaller. The man who sold you the paper, the rush hour traffic, the blinking traffic lights, the loud chatter of women in a Starbucks…they all but blended into this magnificent canvas that you see as Manhattan.

From the pictures my friends showed me, I suppose the newly-designed Top of the Rock in NY is more modern but I would have loved it a little more…period. However, even with that said, the view made up for everything else.

Hey, are you looking for a good Manhattan charter bus rental company? You’ve come to the right place! Dial 1-800-359-5991 to get a quick obligation-free quote right now!
