Funky Buddha (Chicago IL)

As Zen-like as this place sounds, don’t expect to go into meditative state at this awesome Chicago IL charter bus rental nightclub! Whilst, we’re quite sure Buddha is not funky, this place absolutely is! The name of the place comes from the gargantuan steel Buddha sitting at the entrance of this Chicago IL night spot. I was a little taken-aback by it but as I entered Funky Buddha, it dawned on me….everything’s a little over-the-top, extreme, funk-filled, zippy around here! It’s like you’ve just walked into a ‘walk fast’, ‘dance or else’, ‘where’s your drink?’ and ‘Kick your shoes off’ zone. So, what I would say my first impression of Funky Buddha is is this….it blew me off at first sight.

Of course, Chicago IL’s a funky (and windy) city and it’s got its fair number of hot clubs and night spots. What makes this place stand out is that it draws crowds of people who are ready to party and let their hair down. From leather sofas to faux-leopard prints on seats….it just tells you that you’re in a completely different world. The main reason why we decided to make a stop here was because on the Internet, Funky Buddha was one of the few ‘must-visit’ nightclubs, you see, so we specifically told the Chicago IL charter bus driver to drop us off here, park at the side and wait for us to party our night away to take us back to the hotel. For your information, we’re thankful that we took a rental charter bus there because Funky Buddha is located on River West, which means that parking is scarce.

Anyway, there are two bars that I could see in the place. One is of slightly Moroccon style while another is a little classier. We never got round to the VIP section, which my friend insisted was the most amazingly cozy place to a quick snuggle, nevertheless, the dance floor was our destination of choice. The décor, I would have to say, eats into you. It simply draws you in and takes you into a whole new world. After a couple of drinks and some time grooving to the heady music that the DJs play, you’ll be in another place in no time! And boy, the DJs are good – my friend said that they hired the best there is to be hired in Chicago IL and they’re right. I’ve not heard such well-mixed dance music in any other one of my charter bus rental holiday escapades in a long time.

We were there on a weekend and the place was understandably packed. If you’re not a fan of being elbowed in the ribs too often, then I strongly recommend that you drop by this Chicago IL charter bus rental holiday destination on Tuesdays because that’s when they have their night dance party. I heard it’s very fun and exciting….oh, and it’s called OUTDANCED!. Check their website for more information on this one. There’s a cover charge of $5 to $20 per person and it differs from day to day. Funky Buddha opens every day till two in the morning except for Sundays.
