If charter buses are the best way to get around on land in
Fort Lauderdale Florida, then the water taxis are the best way to get around Fort Lauderdale FL on water. You don’t get a lot of these kinds of attractions in other parts of the country and if you’re ever in Ft. Lauderdale, especially if you have kids with you, try out the water taxi. They have tickets for two-way-rides or whole day pass. When I was there, we had the Fort Lauderdale charter bus rental driver drop us off at the entrance and we left it at that….we bought the whole day pass and went aqua the whole day going from place to place via the water taxies! It was fun, I have to tell you that. It’s an adventure not to be missed in Fort Lauderdale.
We took the water taxi rides from restaurants to the many Fort Lauderdale FL waterside shops and tourist attractions. We didn’t even have to take the rented charter bus the whole day….well, that was the plan, you see. So, these yellow and green boats were our main mode of transportation for the day! Interesting, isn’t it? Sitting in the water taxi with nothing to do means that we get to enjoy the amazing panoramic view of Fort Lauderdale FL from the boats itself. There are wonderful houses all along the waterside and the extremely funny and entertaining captains and crew made the rides so enjoyable. They described the places and houses that we passed along the way and entertained us with the funniest of jokes!
Among the many places that we went to using the water taxis in Ft. Lauderdale FL were places like Las Olas Boulevard (didn’t know we could head there with the water taxi) and Galleria Mall too! With the water taxi whole-day pass, you can definitely save a lot of money if you’re not a charter bus rental tourist. I would say that the continuous entertainment ‘on board’ the water taxis are comparable to more expensive boat and yatch cruises. Their timing was a little off the day we were there but apart from that, the boats were clean and well-kept. You know you’re safe because all the captains have respective licenses and they know the rivers like they know the back of their hands. I strongly recommend this as a whole day activity as opposed to a one-ride thing. Start early in the day so that you can maximize your experience.
